We expect this agreement will open up new pathways and make Australian businesses more competitive within the Indonesian market and with other trading partners in the region.
It will allow Australia to take advantage of Indonesia’s growing economy particularly in the agricultural and manufacturing industries. This will not only help local businesses to grow into overseas markets, but with business growth also comes the creation of more local job opportunities. I look forward to seeing how some of local industries can take advantage of this trade deal.
The agreement will help forge stronger economic ties with one of our major trading partners and provide businesses and investors with more access to Indonesia’s trillion-dollar economy.
This will deliver greater certainty for thousands of Australian businesses, farmers and investors. It will also open new doors for Australian services industries including education, telecommunications, tourism, transport and health.
This landmark agreement forms part of our government’s ambitious trade agenda that aims to support business to grow and create more jobs.
