It was reported on September 2, 1998 five members of the Camden Haven Sea Rescue as well as a large number of members from the Camden Haven SES received Communications Certificates after a course was conducted in the local headquarters three weeks earlier.
The certificates were issued by then Oxley Division Controller Greg Slater during regular Wednesday night training.
“The Camden Haven Sea Rescue (a volunteer rescue unit) has agreed to supply radio operations to the Camden Haven State Emergency Service during any event where additional staffing is required,” it was reported.
“Members of both services look forward to closer cooperation in the future.
“The Maritime Services Board also conducted a boat licence exam on August 26 1998 for eight members of the Camden Haven and five from Wauchope SES units.”
