Coupled with the warming daytime weather, overnight minimum temperatures are also likely to climb into the double digits.
Meteorologist with weatherzone Graeme Brittain says the start of the week will see temperatures "smack on the average for this time of the year".
"The early part of the week will see generally sunny conditions," he said.
"The top temperatures will be in around 22 degrees for the Port Macquarie-Hastings.
"We should see some possible fog patches developing inland around Wauchope, Kendall and Kew on Tuesday morning with a minimum temperature of seven degrees.
"But temperatures will be increasing from Wednesday through to Saturday with the maximum peaking on Wednesday at 26 degrees. This is three or four degrees above the average for this time of the year."
Mr Brittain said the sunny conditions were due to a high pressure system currently sitting over much of NSW.
However, he said, this system will contract into the Tasman by late Tuesday as a low pressure trough starts pushing into the state.

"There is still some modelling uncertainty about some possible showers on Wednesday or Thursday, but at this stage that chance is more likely further south of Port Macquarie, possibly around the Forster-Tuncurry area," he added.
As the low moves out it will be replaced by another high pressure system which will move in from the west affecting our weather patterns for Friday and Saturday.
This will bring generally dry weather for Friday and Saturday, with minimum temperatures likely to be 10 degrees and maximums around the 26 degree mark.
There should also be some strong winds on Monday from the south west and on Wednesday from the north east, up to 40 to 50 kilometres per hour.
Surfers should get some decent waves on Monday afternoon as a swell moves up the coast with waves increasing to 2 metres, before gradually easing into Tuesday.
"You will likely see another slight peak in swell on Wednesday, but only up to 1 to 1.5 metres," Mr Brittain said.
The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a strong wind and wind warning for the Illawarra Coast, Batemans Coast and Eden Coast for Monday and Tuesday.
