The event was on Wednesday, September 12 and a variety of baked savoury and sweet goods satisfied the tastebuds of attendees.
CWA Bonny Hills branch president Judy Hardy said the morning tea proved to be more popular than the 2017 event. She estimated over 140 people attended.
Judy said everyone was impressed by the baked creations of hard-working CWA members.
“We were told by Port Macquarie-Hastings Council mayor Peta Pinson that Fran Adams’ (CWA member) scones were the best she’d ever eaten,” she said.
Entry to the event was a $5 donation, with all proceeds going to the Hastings Cancer Trust.
The local non-profit charity organisation is operated entirely by volunteers.
Hastings Cancer Trust fundraising coordinator Hazel Kirby said support from small community groups was vital.
“Their contribution is significant,” she said.
In the past donations from community groups have gone towards funding for exercise programs, hospital equipment and palliative care.
Donations help provide cancer services to the Hastings Macleay and surrounding regions, to help make a difference to cancer patients and their families.
