At 4.50pm on Sunday, September 16 NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service, Fire and Rescue NSW and NSW Rural Fire Service firefighters were at the location.
A spokesperson from NSW Rural Fire Service said crews would work through the night in an attempt to contain the 150 hectare fire.
“Residents can expect to see increased fire activity as crews back burn to contain the fire.
“Currently there are no properties under direct threat.”
Meanwhile residents may also be able to see smoke burning at other locations.
A hazard reduction burn took place about eight kilometres south of Wauchope at Burrawan MFR Trial.
It was carried out by Forest Corporation of NSW and is under control.
