On Thursday, September 13 students dressed to impress in farm attire and made a donation for the appeal.
The fundraiser was organised by the school’s committee to support farmers who are suffering through what is believed to be one of the worst droughts ever recorded.
SchoolAid launched the ‘Hay and Hampers for Hope’ campaign and are calling on 10,000 schools around Australia to donate $100 each.
The aim is to raise $1 million to go towards hay for drought-affected livestock and hampers for farming families who are struggling to meet their living expenses.
Meanwhile over the last few weeks people in the community have donated non perishable food items and money at drop off points including the Camden Haven Show Society, Camden Haven Courier, Kew Corner Store, Kendall Milkbar & Takeaway and Cowarra Park Preschool and Long Day Care.
People can continue to contribute to the drought relief effort by dropping off donations to Camden Haven Show Society, Camden Haven Courier, Kew Corner Store, Kendall Milkbar & Takeaway and Cowarra Park Preschool and Long Day Care. The deadline for donations is Sunday, October 14.
