Part of the Bicentennial celebrations taking place across the Hastings, Back to Bonny’s will celebrate the past, present and future of Bonny Hills with family-friendly events over three days.
President of the Bonny Hills Progress Association said Back to Bonny’s is all about bringing people together.
“We will celebrate the beautiful town we live in, its rich history and exciting future, and all the special places and faces that make up our community. Come along and help us make this a weekend to remember,” he said.
On Friday, September 28, long time locals and recent residents will have the opportunity to share stories at the community meet and greet at the Surf Club.
At 6pm, roll out the picnic rug on Rainbow Beach Reserve for the free Hastings Moonlight Movie, ‘Boss Baby’ (rated PG), presented by Port Macquarie-Hastings Council. Food and drink will be available for purchase.
The festivities continue on the Reserve on Saturday, September 29 from 8am to 3pm with market stalls including local handcrafts, art, food and more.
The limited-edition Bonny Hills pictorial history book will be available for purchase, along with Back to Bonny’s merchandise and tickets for the monster raffle with over $2000 worth of prizes.
The Saturday event offers an exciting line up of entertainment including performances from local groups and live music acts including Ghost Road, a surf competition, welcoming ceremony, children games with prizes, and a historical display of photographs and memorabilia from the area.
On Sunday, September 30, everyone is encouraged to explore the Bonny Hills region with their friends and family. Back to Bonny’s Platinum Sponsor Eagle Nest Park eco-accommodation will host an Open Day from 11am to 2pm, allowing you to get a sneak peek of the region’s best kept secret.
