The St Joseph’s Primary School Laurieton student recently wrote to the Prime Minister to ask the government to help farmers who have been impacted by the drought across Australia. 

Previously, Natasha has also written to the Camden Haven Courier to raise her concerns about environmental issues associated with fishing hooks.

Natasha likes to voice her opinion on a variety of world, national and local issues. 

“I find it disturbing that people don’t take into consideration people who need help or people who are doing the wrong thing,” she said. 

In the future Natasha hopes to become a lawyer because she enjoys having discussions with people and arguing her point. 

Natasha moved to North Haven at the start of  2017 and said she loves living in the area.

“I’ve made so many great friends here,” she said. 

Dear Prime Minister,

Please, think of our local farmers doing it very tough across Australia.

It is great that Australia is helping our overseas neighbours such as Indonesia as the country has had a massive earthquake and tsunami but Australia needs help too.

The government is using too much money on other countries but we need more help at home.

I know that Australia's farming industry is going to suffer dreadfully due to lack of rain. This means that the beef and lamb prices will rise and the farmers do not have enough water to support their crops.

This also effects wheat prices, bread prices, meat prices, vegetable prices, fruit prices and other farm produce prices.

Most of all our families on the land won't stay and they won't encourage their children to stay on the land. Where will we be if no one farms in Australia.

Please consider, I understand this and I am only 11 years old.
