The NSW government is calling for organisers of all new events planned for rural and regional NSW from January to June next year, to apply for grants of up to $20,000 to help attract more visitors and boost local economies.
The 2019 Incubator Event Fund offers annual grants to events in rural and regional NSW to assist with marketing, public relations, venue hire and attendee research.
We are committed to supporting more activity across our regions because visitors stay in local accommodation, buy from local shops and eat at local restaurants and cafes, when they come for an event, putting more tourist dollars in the pockets of local businesspeople and workers.
Our rural and regional communities are full of brilliant ideas and this fund provides a platform to get events o up and running. The NSW government is determined to turbocharge our tourism sector so every part of NSW reaps the benefit of our record $43 million investment in regional tourism.
I encourage event organisers staging an event for the first or second time to apply for Round One of the 2019 Incubator Event Fund, before Round One closes on November 4, at destinationnsw.com.au/rfep
Have your say on survey
I’m keen to hear from residents about issues important to them. I meet thousands of people each year at events, functions and meetings and I’ve had the opportunity to hear about the issues affecting our community. But I am asking for everyone to have their say and let me know what’s important to them.
I encourage you to visit my website and complete the survey under the headings of infrastructure, environment, transport and social priorities. Whether it’s a tidal pool, better CBD parking, improved sporting fields, better health services, road improvements, or more protection for koalas, simply go to lesliewilliams.com.au/survey to fill out the form or contact my office on 6584 0977 and I will send you a paper copy.
