Camden Haven Show Society secretary Jody Nelson-Gleeson said the committee had received ‘huge accolades’ after the fireworks display on Saturday, October 13.
The show hadn’t featured fireworks for years, prior to the weekend.
Despite the weather forecast which came with a huge prediction of rain, a loyal crowd showed up to support the event over the two days.
“We’ve been blown away with the support from everyone,” Jody said.
“It was fabulous to see the rain didn’t dampen any spirits.”
The show included a variety of events such as show jumping, stock horses, cattle judging, chainsaw racing, esky racing, a pie eating contest and a grand parade.
Locals and visitors alike were impressed with the variety of things to see and do.
New Camden Haven resident Beverley Hayes attended the show and said she enjoyed seeing all the animals and produce.
“We haven’t been disappointed so far,” she said.
“There is a lot on despite the threat of rain.”
Jody said there was a bit of rain of Saturday morning but the rest of the weekend was mostly dry.
In previous years the show has been washed out, due to the large volume of rain and drainage issues at the ground.
In August the Camden Haven Show Society was awarded a $192,000 state government grant for drainage works at the Kendall Showground.
This is the third year the Camden Haven Show has been on in October. Previously the show was on in January but the date was changed, due to the frequency of storms and rainfall.
One horse-jumping competitor was taken to hospital on the weekend after she came off while competing in one of the events.
Jody said the girl suffered some ligament damage and will undergo scans this week.
“The accident happened on Saturday but she was back at the show on Sunday in a brace and on crutches,” she said.
