Council is embarking on the development of 18 community plans over the next two years.
Bonny Hills was the pilot community plan, and council is currently developing a community plan for Laurieton, North Haven, Dunbogan, West Haven and Lakewood.
The plans will assist in understanding individual community issues, priorities and help shape the future of each unique area.
People who are interested in providing council with input, into how they would like to see the community grow can join in a Community Think Tank event.
A Think Tank session is on from 6pm until 8pm on Thursday, October 25 at the Laurieton School of the Arts on Bold Street.
Council’s group manager Lucilla Marshall said people will be able to give individual ideas on the character and vision for each location.
“It’s important for us to engage with residents to establish the priorities for each community,” she said.
Lucilla said once plans are created for each of the locations, council can implement action to work towards the long term future visions.
