On Saturday, the talented off-spinner claimed a five-wicket haul in Port Macquarie Pirates’ second-straight win in the Mid North Coast Premier Cricket League.
On Monday, he top scored as Camden Haven High School progressed to the third round of the CHS Alan Davidson Shield.
Cook finished with an unbeaten 80 as Camden Haven emerged with a 94-run win over Kempsey High School at Oxley Oval.
He also claimed 2-42 off eight overs with the ball.
Last year’s North Coast champions compiled 5-301 off their 40 overs before a Jackson Korn century wasn’t enough to prevent the Macleay side being eliminated.
Brother Mitch finished with 30, but there wasn’t much else after that.
Kempsey High were bowled out for 207 as Camden Haven leg spinner Izach Dennis (4-15) did most of the damage after Cook claimed two of the first three wickets.
Camden Haven coach Shane Williams was impressed with the performance from his side, in particular the effort with the bat from Rhys Kendall (65) and Liam Adelt (63).
“Three of our top five went past 50,” he said.
“Liam batted for about 30 overs in the heat of the day and anchored our innings really well; everyone else batted around him.”
Adelt then backed up his effort with the willow in a miserly spell with the ball at the top of the innings.
“Bryce Cook, Daniel and Liam Adelt all bowled really tight and charged in all day,” Williams said.
“The deck died a bit so it was more about putting the ball in the right areas and building dot balls.”
Camden Haven also put pressure on the Kempsey fieldsmen with their running between the wickets.
“It was also really pleasing we batted out our full 40 overs,” Williams said.
“That was a good sign for all our batsmen.”
Focus now turns to Camden Haven’s third round fixture against Melville High school, potentially on Friday as they aim to improve on their performance at last year’s competition.
