Lynne works with coloured wax, which is melted onto an iron and then on to paper .
“It’s very different to paint because you can’t build layers,” she said.
Lynne said she never knows what the outcome will be when she creates a piece of art and she enjoys the fluid working space.
“It’s a bit like dancing,” she said.
“I always listen to music and it gets the rhythm into the work.”

Lynne said doing art such as still life is too restrictive. Still life includes all kinds of man-made or natural objects including cut flowers, fruit, vegetables, fish, and wine.
Lynne would rather use a stick than a paintbrush.
“As soon as there is a right or wrong it loses me,” she said.
Music and art are both subjects which Lynne has always been passionate about, as she grew up in a musical family.
He father was a musician and a songwriter.
“I went to sleep to the music of his band practice at our house,” Lynne said.
Lynne was taught how to play the ukulele when she was four-years-old and played with her three siblings at their first gig when she was eight-years-old.
The family group auditioned for Young Talent Time which was hosted by Jamie Redfern in Melbourne.
“The whole experience was such a thrill and a bit overwhelming,” Lynne said.
Growing up Lynne never had a sense of place because she moved schools seven times.
“I didn’t have any roots or long term school friends,” she said.
However she now calls Kendall her home.
The Q Pop Up Gallery at Kew has connected her to many other artists.
Lynne has made lots of new friends and has enjoyed networking and collaborating with others. It’s one of the highlights, Lynne said, of living in the area.
“It will break my heart if the gallery closes in February,” she said.
Before Lynne started experimenting with coloured wax she was an avid potter.
However a crash at the Kew intersection meant Lynne couldn’t get behind the pottery wheel again because of her injuries.
She has ongoing pain due to whiplash she suffered in the accident.
The Q Pop Up Gallery showcases local art and music.
