In the event’s eighth year, the yearly book club is a chance for members of the 90 – and growing – local book clubs to come together and do what they love most – talk about books.
Book club librarian Lee Wright said the event was shaping up to be a great night out.
“Our yearly book club night is always well attended by book club members who want to get together, meet old friends and have a great time talking about a common book,” Ms Wright said.
“We have been pushing the book to our book clubs in the last few months so a lot of the audience will have read the book we will be talking about.
“This means the discussions on the night will be very active and lively which is always good fun for everyone.”
The book the group will discuss this year is Georgia Blain’s, Between a Wolf and a Dog, and Ms Wright said members of the community are more than welcome to come.
“We have lots of books clubs running at our library as well as at our libraries in Laurieton, Wauchope and even Lord Howe Island so for many it is a good chance to see people they don’t see often,” she said.
“We have more than 200 sets of books that clubs can borrow and we are always adding to the list so people are be assured new books are always coming.
“The library itself closes at 6pm and that is when the event starts so it is nice to book club members to be able to come into the library after hours and have a look around.
“We hope that the turnout will be great and everyone enjoys themselves.”
