The Bonny Hills Progress Association were successful in receiving a grant from the state government’s 2017 Community Building Partnership (CBP) program.
Bonny Hills Progress Association president Roger Barlow said the the cost of the court project was funded by the $30,000 grant, community donations and an association raffle.
Roger thanked people who donated their time and money to help ensure the court came to fruition.
“This has been the best project ever, in regards to community members donating their services,” he said.
“We’ve saved an enormous amount of money thanks to those people.”
A raffle at the Back to Bonnys event in September covered the cost of painting the court.
President Roger Barlow said the proposal started out as a discussion between members about the organisation’s focus for its next project.
Mr Barlow said the area was lacking in facilities which are attractive for prominently female sports, such as netball.
The community is invited to the court’s official opening on Saturday, November 24 at 4pm.
