Local fisho Russell Taylor made the shocking find on Saturday October 27.
The story appeared in the Courier on November 14.
Mr Taylor said rubbish dumped in or near our waterways has a devastating effect on the environment.
"We are known for having really healthy waterways whcih are occupied by a variety of marine life including grey nurse sharks," he said at the time.
However, another local resident Michael Bevan has added his voice to the story.
Mr Bevan says the rubbish had been dumped weeks prior to Mr Taylor's discovery.
"I came across the rubbish pile probably around the long weekend in October," he says.
"The rubbish was taped off and at least five metres from the water.
"So between then at late October, the rubbish has been draged from the land and into the lake.
"You can clearly see where the rubbish had been sitting, because the grass had died off," he said.
Mr Bevan said he was surprised that the taped off rubbish had not been removed.
"I'd just like something done, considering it has been there for over a month," he added.
