A school spokesperson said there were a total of 11 students from Camden Haven High School on the Honour Roll in 2018.
“The school was ranked 235 in the state by the Sydney Morning Herald, making it the highest ranked public school in the Mid North Coast,” she said.
The ranking does not take into account the many single-course distance education students that attend Camden Haven High School, many of whom attend private schools in the area.
Five students at Camden Haven High School achieved ATARs over 90, with three coming close over 89.
Storm Davidson, set to be the Dux of Camden Haven High School, said she was shocked at her results.
“I opened it and literally screamed,” Storm said.
“It was higher than I expected, I was aiming for 85!” she said.
“I’m not going to uni, I think it’s pretty ironic.
“The aim is to have my own business as a health coach.”
Storm will study an Advanced Certificate of Health Coaching online and is currently working six days a week at Adrenaline Fitness.
The students thanked their teachers and year advisor Mr Ben Sainsbury.
“Sainsbury has been the best year advisor, Storm said.
“if we didn’t have him it would be a different story. He’s supportive but funny and keeps it real and keeps us motivated. He’s one of us!”
Mr Sainsbury said the students were admirable, inspiring, hard working and highly diligent.
“They deserve nothing but the best things in this world. I’m a super proud school dad!” he said.
Distinguished achiever Amber Nicholas said she had her alarm set and wanted to see her ATAR result as soon as possible.
Amber will move to Melbourne next year to study Biomedicine, after achieving a 91 in Biology and 93 in Visual arts, giving her an ATAR of 94.65.
She enjoyed the balance of both art and science, and considered a career in both.
The school congratulated students on their hard work and effort over Year 12, and wished them all the best for the future.
