Letter: New logging laws

I have been comparing the two photos provided with this article: one on the front page of the Courier and the other online. The one on the front page shows a tract of land that has been virtually clear felled, containing no mature or seed trees and clearly no bio diversity. On the other hand the online photo appears to show more diversity containing trees of different heights and ages and appears not to have been clear-felled. It therefore appears that there is some lack of consistency with the the way that Forestry Corporation is managing our forests. I am curious to know why the original photo was not used online and instead one seemingly provided by Forestry Corporation. Is it possible that Forestry Corporation is not entirely happy to have the public made aware of their practices? I would welcome Forestry Corporation providing before and after public tours of the forests that they manage on our behalf.
