At Panthers on February 9, 10 queens will go head to head to see if they have what it takes to delight and entertain the crowds.
Two local drag queens – Nick Cameron and GJ Hayward – will be hosting the evening and say they are very excited about bring the competition to town.
“There have been smaller drag shows in Port Macquarie for the last five or so years with strong support for the LGBT community and so we decided we really wanted to do a competition,” Mr Cameron said.
“Panthers have been really great and jumped on board as soon as we floated the idea to them and it has just grown from there.
“In the bigger cities there are more opportunities for the LGBT community to express themselves in this way but very few chances in a regional place like Port Macquarie.
“We have lined up some of the best queens from along the east coast and are very excited for the night.”
The duo also said it would be a great chance to highlight a minority of people living in town.
“The competition is also about showing people who live here that there is a small but vibrant LGBT community in Port Macquarie,” Ms Hayward said.
“A competition like this shows people another side of the community and one where people are free to express themselves.
“Becoming a queen gives you an immense confidence boost and is great fun.”
The competition itself has scored great competition judges social media superstar Christian Hull, Sydney drag queen Coco Jumbo and local socialite Sarah Gale.
“It is going to be hectic but a lot of fun,” Mr Cameron said.
