Camden Haven Sports and Recreation Management Committee secretary and treasurer Karl Herb said he came across the damage at about 8am on Thursday, January 24.
Karl said the lawn had been ripped up and the pitch damaged by a car’s traction, inside the white fence at the oval’s location.
The pitch is maintained by volunteers from Camden Haven Cricket Club and president Derek Gray said it’s disappointing for all members.
Karl said the police have been notified and Port Macquarie-Hastings Council workers have been on the scene to help fix the damage.
Derek said he has not seen the damage, but is hoping the pitch will be ready for the next cricket match on Saturday, February 2.
In July 2017, residents voiced their concerns about vandals at Bruce Porter Reserve.
Jacqueline Layton lives opposite the reserve and at the time said she wrote to the Port Macquarie-Hastings Council about the ‘anti social behaviour’ of people who drive ‘recklessly under cover of darkness, perform doughnuts and sharp manoeuvres’.
