There were excited smiles as students walked along the footpath to the school, looking the part with their crisp school uniforms, hats on and bags packed.
Some parents teared up as they watched their babies enter the big school for the first time.
It was a family affair with mum, dads, grandparents and carers turning out to support the young children as they made the transition.
The kindergarten kids will spend the day getting to know their teacher, other students and doing fun activities.
The rest of the school’s students started 2019 on Wednesday, January 30.
