The couple had only been married a month before Jeremy died in an accident on January 15. He was 28-years-old. 

Teleah said the community has rallied behind her following Jeremy’s death. A fundraising campaign enabled his body to be transported to his home town at Lake Rotoiti, New Zealand for burial. 

Teleah and Jeremy met in Port Macquarie three years ago. Jeremy had travelled to Port Macquarie from Sydney for the state cup. 

Sport was an interest the young couple shared and both were involved with netball, touch football and rugby.

Jeremy caught Teleah’s eye with his smile, warm personality and the way he would light up a room. 

Friends say Jeremy was a beautiful and happy soul, who always had a smile on his face. He was a person who looked out for everyone and made people happy. 

Teleah said she misses her husband and is attempting to find purpose in each day to manage her grief. 

Teleah is grateful she has so many happy memories to think about, including their wedding day on December 15, 2018 in New Zealand. 

“It was pretty special,” she said.  

Teleah said Jeremy is now buried with his nan in New Zealand. Jeremy had a close relationship with his nan, as she raised him. 

Teleah has grown up in the Camden Haven area and is grateful for the support the community has given her and her family following the heartbreaking incident. 

Sporting groups, community members, friends and family helped raise funds to ensure Jeremy’s body could be laid to rest in New Zealand. 

Teleah thanked the Camden Haven Bombers AFL Club, Bankstown Jets, Wauchope Fitness Centre, the Wauchope Blues Seniors and Wauchope Thunder Rugby Club.

Jeremy has an eight-year-old daughter Monica, who lives in Sydney.
