Spokesperson for the group, Ailsa Denyer said the program kicks off on Wednesday, February 27 and caters for all fitness levels.
“Walkers can come each week or just choose the walks that suit them,” she said.
“New walkers are invited to come along and meet new people while exercising and enjoying the beaches, bush and mountains around our district.”
The first walk on Wednesday, February 27 is a six kilometre stroll along the Lakewood boardwalk.
Interested attendees must take walking shoes, sun hat, drink bottle and a snack.
Registration for the group is free, however some car transport is required and carpooling is encouraged.
The group meets at the Camden Haven Health Centre (corner Laurie and Norman Streets, Laurieton) at 8.45am, or occasionally earlier if the scheduled walk involves significant travel time.
Programs are available at the Laurieton Library, the Camden Haven Neighbourhood Centre, the iKew centre at Kew and the Laurieton Men’s Shed.
