I disagree with Bill O'Donnell’s letter on a number of counts. Even though it has been very humid this summer it isn't the hottest one since 1995. A few years ago the temperature soared above 40 degrees in the Camden Haven and Port Macquarie. I wrote it down in my diary and posted online how hot it was.

In January 1896 on the East coast of Australia the temperatures climbed to 49 degrees and killed hundreds of people. It was worse in the west of NSW and people fled to the mountains to get relief.
If you google: January 1896 49 degree heatwave killed 437 people in Aus/Daily Mail you will find the article with newspaper excerpts from the time.
Mr O'Donnell should research old records and disregard information that the Climate Change fraternity espouses. Even the BOM has got the figures wrong on several occasions and has been called out on it.
We need coal fired power stations otherwise we will end up in the Dark Ages using wood stoves and candlelight. We all know that renewables can't sustain large cities or even small villages. Solar power contributes to the grid but wind and solar power alone will not support the needs of modern cities. Blackouts in Victoria and South Australia were caused because power stations had been dismantled or in need of repair.
Our children and grandchildren will hate us for the economic ruin and hardship it will cause. In France the 'yellow vests' are rioting because of the tax on petrol that President Macron imposed on them to combat climate change.
In the coming elections my vote will go to the candidate/s that have the guts to support coal fired power stations and get out of the Paris Climate Change Accord.
God is in control of the world and it is arrogance to think that people can control the climate through reducing emissions. This is a scam that will benefit some international companies by trading carbon credits.
