Global School Play Day is an event which promotes the importance of unstructured play in schools.
Teacher Jessica Watts said the school values unstructured play due to the overwhelming benefits it can have on children’s social, emotional and mental well being.
“We also appreciate the insight it can give us as teachers regarding students’ interests and social and emotional behaviours and interactions,” she said.
“This in turn allows us the opportunity to structure our learning experiences accordingly.”
The event has been running globally for the past five years.
In 2019, 535,690 students from 72 nations were registered by their administrators or teachers to participate.
