In an age where dating apps and online matches are the craze, the traditional formality of buying flowers and chocolate lives on. 

Peter Moore said he's been married for 54 years and met his wife Rita at the wedding of her cousin. 

He bought her some flowers on Valentine's Day and said they've had a very happy life together. 

Trevor was also in the florist shop on Bold Street on Thursday, February 14 to buy his wife Helen some lovely blooms. 

The couple have been married for 44 years and met while working in Gloucester. 

Trevor said they went to a dance for their first date and it was love at first sight. 

Florist owner Christie Mcmiles said this year's Valentine's Day was special as it's her first as a business owner and as a wife. 

Christie and her husband Callum will celebrate their one year wedding anniversary in a few weeks. 

Previously Christie said she has not been keen about celebrating Valentine's Day but she said this year is special. 

"I think I've changed my view about the day," she said. 

"I guess I'm becoming a bit more of a romantic." 

Callum and Christie have known each other since they were eight-years-old and were good friends before they got together. 

Christie said she loves their life. 

"Callum is a very thoughtful and happy person," she said. 

Georgia Boland is celebrating 25 years since she met her husband on Valentine's Day. 

They met at a nightclub in Sydney and Georgia said they 'just clicked'. 

Georgia said her husband Darren is a romantic at heart and looks after her whenever she needs help. 

She said they have mutual respect for one another.
