Twenty five members from the club travelled to Sydney on Saturday, February 9 to compete at the Lunar (Chinese) New Year Darling Harbour 200m races.
The team's coach and manager Dave Napper said it was the first time the club has competed in a major and non local regatta since the 2014 Australian Championships.
"This was reported to be the biggest regatta in the southern hemisphere," he said.
"The competition was fierce.
"The magnificent venue and the magnitude of this regatta was not lost on our competitors."
Members competed in Senior A Opens, Senior A Women and Premier Opens.
In the last race of the day the Premier Opens team placed fourth with a time of 57 seconds.
Dave said he was proud of all the club's members.
"All our teams competed very creditably, particularly against other country clubs including Illawarra, Dubbo, Hawkesbury and Orange," he said.
"Our team demonstrated commitment, cooperation and comradery."
Dave said the Camden Haven Dragon Boat Club is growing in numbers and is an excellent way for people of all ages and gender to be involved in a local sporting and social activity.
