The event coincided with the NSW Seniors Festival on from February 13 until February 24, with the theme ‘Love Your Life’.
Marcella and Brenda are both new to the area and said the event was a great opportunity to meet people.
Marcella has moved to Lake Cathie from Sydney and said she was happy to be living in such a lovely part of the world.
Brenda is from Nowra and said she decided to move to the area because she wanted a change. Brenda was born in Nowra.
The morning tea at Lake Cathie was hosted by the North Coast Primary Network’s Healthy Towns team.
The event included a number of presentations about the online medical record, My Health Record and about the role of a GP in managing health. Attendees received a show bag.
Romayne Page from the North Coast Primary Network’s Healthy Towns team said about 28 per cent of residents who live in Lake Cathie are senior citizens.
She said the event offers seniors a way to connect to health services and educate them about living options going forward.
