The seven-year-old managed to reel in the 2.750kg fish using a hand line and fresh mullet strip as the bait.
Macey's catch broke a record for the Laurieton United Services Club Fishing Club, for the biggest bream ever caught.
The previous record was held by Roy Bates who caught a 1.900kg bream back in 1992.
Proud dad, Matthew Hutchison said Macey's catch was very rare and is called 'a unicorn' in fishing circles.
"Truly you will never see one like this again," he said.
Matthew said the fish managed to get to its size by being 10 per cent smarter than the average bream.
