Sascha's enthusiasm has seen her selected to attend the AFL North Coast Youth Leadership Accelerator Program for players aged 13 to 18 in Coffs Harbour on Saturday, February 23.
The purpose of the program is to teach leadership skills that will help participants in the sporting environment (on and off field), within their family life, at school and in employment.
Sascha plays for the Camden Haven Bombers and club president Darren Mearrick said she will really enjoy the course and is set to become a leader of female AFL players in the area.
Sascha has dedicated her time to practicing her AFL skills most days after school. She also attends training at least once a week.
She said it's fantastic the sport is developing more for women who want to pursue it as a career path.
The weekend's program will include a full day of face to face tuition and exercises followed by online modules to reinforce the learning. It's also a requirement for the players to take on a leadership role within the sport.
Sascha also holds a black belt in karate and has experienced success at the Australian Martial Arts Championships.
