For a number of years now, the student at St Columba Anglican School has dedicated her life to helping ensure marine animals survive and the ocean stays clean.
Her environmental work and passion for animals has also caught the attention of environmentalists right around the world and Shalise was able to meet Philippe Cousteau from Earth Echo International.
"I am so passionate about helping the environment and making sure I do all I can to help the ocean and marine animals," Shalise said.
"Clean Up Australia Day is one of my favourite days of the year and last year I ran my own clean up at Lake Cathie.
"This year I wanted to do something more and so I applied to be a Clean Up Australia Day ambassador and it makes me so happy to say that I was accepted."
In 2019 Clean Up Australia Day will be held on Saturday, March 2.
Shalise said that Clean Up Australia Day is all about making sure we collect rubbish before it ends up in our oceans and waterways.
"Even if you only have 30 minutes or an hour you can make a big difference if we all work together," she said.
"This year I am hosting another clean up but this time at North Haven because I went down there recently and it had lots of rubbish.
"I tried to clean some of it up but it was too much for one person. I hope that lots of people can come and help and we can make North Haven look great."
