The path runs along the southern side of the hall and is adjacent to the North Haven River Baths.
Council director Melissa Watkins said a recent inspection identified the pathway is unstable and not safe for public use.
"Council are currently investigating strategies and obtaining appropriate environmental approvals to reconstruct the path, with timelines for repair unclear at this stage," she said.
Pedestrian detours and signage are in place and access to the tidal bath remains open.
The community is advised to follow directional signage and exercise caution in the area.
"Council thanks the community for your patience as we work to repair and reopen this popular pathway as soon as possible," said Ms Watkins.
