The Middle Rock Mariners Baseball team is looking forward to the upcoming Hastings Baseball opening game on April 28.

The relatively new Mariners Club will be entering A and B Grade teams and hope to establish Juniors to feed these teams in a few years.

The team has been successful in the B grade competition and this year hope to establish themselves as a force in the A grade competition. Last Saturday over 24 men women and children attended the Mariners' Come and Try Baseball Day. The club will consider entering a second B grade team if there is enough interest from players.

In a bid to attract more senior players and juniors the club will hold another Come and Try Baseball Day at the Laurieton Oval on Sunday, March 17 from 2pm. The club is open to new members and invites them to enjoy the friendly family culture of the club. Interested players will be able to start their registration on the day.
