Matt has been a coach for the past 10 years and teaches at Laurieton, Lake Cathie and Bonny Hills.
Tennis has been his passion since he was 11-years-old and Matt said he loves the lifestyle of being out in the sun, while helping young players to achieve their best.
Matt is originally from England and growing up he had big dreams of becoming a professional tennis player. He would play five to six times a week and enjoyed the pressure of competitions.
In 1995 Matt moved to Port Macquarie with his parents and he worked really hard in an attempt to make the grade.
Matt moved to England for a period of time after he left school but moved back to Australia in 2008.
He was the Port Macquarie Tennis champion for six years from 2012 until 2017.
Matt will be part of the mixed doubles tournament at the Laurieton courts on Sunday, March 31.
He is also running an open day at the Laurieton courts on Sunday, April 7 from 9am to give children the opportunity to try out tennis.
The open day will include activities for all ages in a a fun environment. Prospective members or interested players are welcome to join in.
