Comboyne Show 2019 is on March 16 and 17

This year's Comboyne Show is set to be a real beauty.

The weekend of Saturday March 16 and Sunday March 17 will see the scenic Comboyne Plateau come alive to the sights, sounds and experiences of the 2019 Comboyne Show.

"For two days of fun and learning, with innovative attractions and entertainments for all ages, this is the opportunity for you to try out the new improved bitumen road to discover the beauty and hospitality of the Comboyne Plateau," said organiser Ray Lance.

With two full days of interactive fun and entertainment with free parking at the Showground, and admission just $5 per adult (students under 16 free), this has to be the best value family weekend ever. Westpac Rescue Helicopter will share in the gate takings.

Exciting new exhibit categories are in all pavilions, including 3D Art, the latest pavé floral art competition, bee-keeping and honey display, fermented foods and home brewing, with Peoples’ Choice awards in both the fine art and botanical design sections.

The usual high standard of baking, product, photography, craft, cake decorations and giant pumpkins will be open to view on both days.

While all pavilions will be open both days, the active judged animal classes and entertainment will be different. From the ultra-modern to the traditional, the old-fashioned churned Ice-cream will be being made and free samples given, spinners, vegetable preservers and cheese-makers will be demonstrating their skills while there will be pony rides, face-painting, market stalls, music provided by Indiah, and all the fun of the fair rides.

On Saturday March 16, there will be a comprehensive Heavy Horse program, the Mate MacMillan $1300 Stockhorse Event and pure fun plus the popular Melon Grab and hilarious Farmhouse Challenge.

A great Poultry Show and Championship Dog Show (over 200 dogs) will also be on the Saturday, with the official show opening by Melinda Pavey MP at 11am. All visiting VIPs will then be invited to participate in the Melon Grab.

On Sunday March 17, the Show Rings will be very busy with a packed schedule of equestrian events – including show jumping, and the entertaining Barrel, Bending and Flag Races.

The days’ events showcase the skills of horses and riders, with riders in the Under 7 class right through to 17 years and over. Gates open at 8.30am.
