Sempai Shaun Budai says he is brushing up on his Mandarin before embarking on an esteemed teaching opportunity.

The 20-year-old has been training at Mid North Coast Karate in Kew since he was eight-years-old. He is now a 2nd Dan Black Belt.
Sempai Shaun was approached by the Chinese Karate Federation to go to the country and teach for 12 months. He will leave at the end of March and will be based in Shanghai.
Shihan Peter Becroft has witnessed Shaun's growth since he first joined the centre.
"I am incredibly proud," he said.
"I don't know anyone else that has got the same opportunity that Shaun is going to get."
Sempai Shaun achieved his black belt in year 8 and has helped out with teaching some classes since Year 7.
Sempai Shaun said he is looking forward to experiencing Chinese culture and learning about the country's history.
He is also looking forward to eating Chinese food, particularly the beef noodles.
Sempai Shaun will have the assistance of a translator during his classes. He expects to teach about 800 students each week.
"I'm really looking forward to travelling around and sharing what I know about karate through teaching," he said.
"Teaching is really fun and it will be an exciting new challenge."
Sempai Shaun might also get the opportunity to travel around China to deliver seminars.
