But the victory was less than convincing.
Coach Jose Ustariz described his team's first half performance as "a little flat".
"At half time we spoke about the need to settle our play down, regroup and go back to basics," Ustariz said.
"We seemed a little flat in the first half and all the players knew we could do better. We needed to get back out there in the second half, forget the bad, and build on the good that we'd already done."
In front of a home crowd, the Redbacks were keen to replicate their first round win.
And very quickly they once again dominated, with the first shot on goal coming just seconds into the match.
Despite the early pressure, the visitors managed to hold the Redbacks out, and the Redbacks failed to capitalise.
But the visitors could only hold on for so long, and eventually the Redbacks were able to find the back of the net, and get themselves onto the board.
The first half saw three goals to the Redbacks, however the impressive teamwork that had been on show during last week's win was missing from their round 2 effort.
The second half definitely saw a turnaround in the Redbacks, with much better set plays and thought-out passes.
Amelia Clacher played brilliantly from the back, creating opportunities and moving forward to provide additional support. Up front Mia Windred and Emily Mackenzie both proved dangerous on the ball and particularly in front of goals.
The final score of 6-0 a convincing win for the team, with goals to Maria Wilson (2), Windred (2) and Mackenzie (2).
While happy with the improved second half and the two points, Ustariz said the side can absolutely do better.
"We sustained a number of injuries, which certainly didn't help, and are a concern for the season ahead, but ultimately we were our own worst enemies with our passing and at times panicked plays," he said.
"Whilst we're only a new squad, we can certainly play better.
"I'm very much looking forward to working towards that for next week's game."
In Premier League, the Redbacks bounced back from a horror first round loss to record a great 3-1 win over the Tuncurry Forster side.
Saturday will see a triple header once again, as the Premier League squads take on Wallis Lake, whilst the Ladies take on Wauchope, with games starting at 1pm.
