The annual awesome orchid show is hosted from 9am to 5pm at Port Panthers auditorium by the Port Macquarie Orchid and Bromeliad Society Inc on Saturday, May 11.
It continues from 9am to 3pm on Sunday, May 12 - admission is $2 or free for children under 12.
Secretary Ken McNaught said the Society is looking forward to this year's Mother's Day Show.
"The recent weather has made for interesting growing conditions in our region," he said.
"The swings in temperature have encouraged some plants to flower earlier than normal, so there could be a variable display of plants to what we have seen in the past.
"In addition to the orchids and bromeliads, there will be a range of foliage plants on display. The Sky Dragon Penjing Group will also have a bonsai display at the show."
Flowers are typically exhibited from the Port Macquarie and surrounding areas such as Nambucca, Foster, Taree and Wauchope.
"We are expecting quite a number of plants in flower so the display should be quite extensive," said Mr McNaught.
"In particular, there should be many Cattleya Orchids in flower. There will be 11 classes of orchids resulting in a maximum of 83 different types of orchid plants potentially being on display.
"There will also be ten types of bromeliads exhibited and a special section for ferns and foliage plants (non-flowering)."
Members of the general public can also pick up their own plants by purchasing both bromeliad and orchid species on the day, as well as information flyers about general care.
"As always, the members of the society will make themselves available to answer any questions in relation to orchids and bromeliads culture," said Mr McNaught.
"We will be happy to provide one-on-one assistance to people who are interested in starting an orchid collection."
