A spokesperson from Port Macquarie-Hastings Council said the upgrade is scheduled to take place in the area of Ocean Drive, Rodley Street and Panorama Drive.
"The upgrade will include construction of a new stormwater pit and pipe, kerb and guttering and realignment of an existing water main," he said.
"This will improve stormwater drainage, helping to prevent inundation to existing properties and will future proof the stormwater network."
The spokesperson said traffic will be controlled on Ocean Drive, which may result in some disturbances through this area.
"There may also be temporary road closures to Rodley Street and Panorama Drive," he said.
"Details of any closures will be confirmed as work progresses.
"Whilst disruptions to local residents will be unavoidable, access to properties will be maintained and we will ensure that all measures are undertaken to minimise impacts on nearby residents.
"Council will also facilitate open communication between residents and the work crew during the works."
The work is expected to take about 12 weeks, subject to favourable weather conditions.
The majority of the works will be completed adjacent to properties 983, 987, 989 and 1002 - 1006 Ocean Drive, 1, 2A and 16 Rodley Street and 1 Panorama Drive.
Additional minor works will be completed adjacent to properties 951 and 953 Ocean Drive and 16 Rodley Street.
