"There are high rents and high cost of living," he said.
The group is working on establishing emergency accommodation in the area.
Theo said they will apply for a government grant to help fund a building to host people in need.
The Camden Haven Community at 3 can help people by providing a hand up, rather than a hand out.
Theo said the group can link people to a range of services to help with any issues they might be impacted by.
The group is appealing to the community to make donations of food tins (with flip tops) and other non perishable items to Kew Corner Store and Peggy Landon - Osteopath.
As the weather turns cooler, the group is also accepting donations of blankets, pillows, gloves and socks.
The group continues to host a weekly barbecue from 3pm at the back of Laurieton United Services Club every Wednesday.
Theo said the operation of the service wouldn't be possible without its 24 volunteers who help out each week.
"One lady, Nita, is aged in her 90s and she brings homemade slices to the barbecue each week," he said.
Theo is very concerned about the prevalence of suicide in the Camden Haven but said there is always hope for people.
"You can look back but not go back, because forward is the only way we're going," he said.
Theo is appealing to groups in the community to consider the Camden Haven Community at 3 when organising fundraising events.
