Danielle Bates is calling for more designated bus stops in Laurieton and direct routes to connect young people to educational facilities in Port Macquarie.

Danielle has two children, one who attends a local primary school and the other who attends Camden Haven High School.
Danielle said the local transport system is too limited.
"There are not enough designated stops in our area," she said.
"To catch a bus children have to physically wave down the driver."
Danielle is also a TAFE teacher at Port Macquarie, working within the Technical and Vocational Education and Training/Youth Engagement programs.
Students often have to leave Danielle's class early to catch a bus to the Camden Haven on time.
"They have to leave to catch the 2.30pm bus from Port Macquarie because the next one after that isn't until 5.30pm," she said.
"The public buses take an hour and a half to get to our area because they go all over the place in Port Macquarie."
Danielle grew up in the Camden Haven before moving to Sydney.
"I'm disappointed because when we moved back up because I expected the bus system to have improved from when I was going to school," she said.
When Danielle was a child she would catch the 7.30am bus from outside the bakery in Laurieton and it would arrive at school in Port Macquarie by 9am.
Danielle said the three hour return trip per day for young people leaves little time for extra curriculum activities.
She said the lack of linkage for transport from Laurieton to Port Macquarie makes it difficult for working families to juggle commitments.
A spokesperson from Busways said the company welcomes feedback from community members about the nature of its services, including bus stops.
"While adding bus stops requires the concurrence of the local road authority, Busways is very happy to consider all requests for the placement of additional bus stops," she said.
"When waiting to board a bus, customers are asked to signal the driver so they know the passenger is waiting to catch that service.
"Route 334k follows the most direct path from Laurieton to Port Macquarie.
"Once it reaches the outskirts of Port Macquarie, it then deviates slightly in order to provide access to public transport for more residents who want to travel into town."
