The Under 16s girl's league tag team played against Group Two at Harry Elliott Oval in Tuncurry.
They were given the opportunity to be selected for the North Coast Bulldogs team to play in the country championships.
Group 3 coach Shanene Matthews said the opportunity was the first of its kind for girls from local rugby league clubs to represent the region.
Group 3 won the match against Group 2, with the final score notched as 20-16.
"The focus was to do the simple things right, because that's what wins games and that's what they did," Shanene said.
"The girls have bonded as a team through making new friends, while gaining knowledge and confidence in their ability.
Shanene said the girls played put their skills into action to come away with the win.
