Laurieton Oval is the traditional home of the Camden Haven Bombers, a club with a rich history in the AFL North Coast competition.
The club was unable to field teams in the Junior Competition in 2019, and partnered with the Mustangs to ensure that kids from the Camden Haven area were accounted for.
On Sunday Mustangs players for Under 11 and Under 13 will proudly wear Camden Haven Bombers jumpers.
The Manning Valley Mustangs and Port Macquarie Magpies have agreed to take matches to Laurieton this Sunday, to show their commitment to re-establishing the Bombers in 2020.
The project has the full support of AFL NSW/ACT which is working with the club's dedicated committee to build the club back up from the grassroots.
The Camden Haven Bombers are already conducting a successful Auskick Centre at Laurieton Oval on Monday evenings from 5pm until 6pm.
The Auskickers represent the next wave of junior club footballers that will combine with those currently playing for the Mustangs to form the basis of the Camden Haven Bombers teams in the 2020 season.
With so much new housing development in the Camden Haven resulting in families moving to the area, and the prospect of the new sporting facilities at Lake Cathie, the future looks bright for the Bombers.
The community is invited to watch the matches on Sunday from 9.30am for the Under 11s. Under 13s will play at 10:55am.
