Every two years the International Science School (ISS) selects 140 top science students from Australia and overseas including China, Japan, India, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, the USA and the UK.
It's the first time two students from Camden Haven High School have been selected to attend the International Science School. Ebony's sister Amber Nicholas attended the school in 2017.
Students are invited to participate in a two-week residential program of talks by world-renowned scientists, laboratory tours and activities. There are also social events.
Elizabeth said she was looking forward to meeting Dr. Karl Kruszelnicki, who has a wealth of knowledge on all subjects within the field of science.
For the selection process Ebony and Elizabeth provided the ISS with grades, a statement about why they should be chosen and school references.
Both Ebony and Elizabeth have achieved highly in the robotics field at their school.
The students will both pursue careers within the field of science.
"I couldn't see myself doing anything else," Elizabeth said.
Elizabeth would like to focus on the field of engineering and study mechatronics at university.
"I'd like to create robots to help the elderly or to make robots which can help cater for a sustainable lifestyle," she said.
Ebony is passionate about chemistry and food science.
The girls fly to Canberra on Sunday, July 7 for the two week program at ISS. They will return on Saturday, July 20.
