The Camden Haven Show Society has introduced a new initiative with the aim of attracting a younger demographic to join the organisation.
Camden Haven Show Society secretary and Agricultural Societies Council (ASC) director, Jody Nelson-Gleeson said the Ambassador Award will introduce younger people into a leadership role.
"We want to encourage locals to invite and motivate entrants to contribute to the organisation and delivery of the Camden Haven Show," she said.
The award will involve both males and females from the local area. The junior award entry is for those aged between 16-21 years and senior is for people aged over 21-years-old.
Mrs Nelson-Gleeson said it's important to help develop skills of young people, so that they're willing to step up when it's time for the older generations to step down.
"It's a massive challenge which is impacting many local shows right across the state," she said.
"The aim of the award is to give young people a forum to express their views through education and experience, and develop closer links with our local show society."
The society is currently involved with the ASC Next Gen program, which is is the youthful extension of the Agricultural Societies Council of NSW.
Jody said the Ambassador Award is another step to ensure the voices of young people are heard.
