Local Government Week runs from Monday, July 29 to Sunday, August 4.
The week throws the spotlight on councils across the state and showcases and celebrates the work and services which councils provide to the community.
Mayor Peta Pinson said Local Government Week was an opportunity to let the community know about all the facets of the council.
"It's a way of bringing the council closer to the community and opening the doors of council to show exactly what it is we are delivering and why we are delivering it," she said.
Council's Holly McBride said Local Government Week would see the council open its doors to showcase and celebrate the work and services the council provided our growing community.
"This year's theme is Your Council, and highlights that we deliver much more than just "roads, rates and rubbish", but many other services such as invasive weed management, public pools, libraries, community halls, food safety regulation and managing our region's water supply to name just a few," she said.
