Whiddon Laurieton celebrated Aged Care Employee Day (ACED) on Wednesday, August 7 with a barbecue lunch and awards for staff.
The official day was created in 2018 by the aged care organisation, to recognise and celebrate people who work in the aged care industry.
Whiddon Laurieton's director of care services George Fotoulis said it's important to pay tribute to their valuable contribution.
"We have been planning an exciting celebration for our entire team, to say a huge thanks to the incredible people here, who often put others' needs before their own," he said.
"Their devotion and passion to caring for older people and making a meaningful difference each and every day in our communities, is what sets them apart."
Di Roach said it was a honour to be named as Employee of the Year and said she was part of a fantastic team.
Di helps to organise the monthly theme days, where residents, staff and community members participate in activities and dress accordingly.
She said there's always a fantastic atmosphere at the events.
Di has been at Whiddon Laurieton for 11 years and part of the aged care industry since 2000.
