Mrs Small said the committee has been working extremely hard behind the scenes to push forward with the project.
Members have been in consultation with Port Macquarie-Hastings Council, the NSW State Government and the NSW Aboriginal Land Council.
Residents are invited to attend a community meeting at the Laurieton United Services Club on Wednesday, September 11 from 6.30pm for a 7pm start.
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council Mayor Peta Pinson and Member for Port Macquarie Leslie Williams will address the community meeting.
Mrs Small said the meeting was an opportunity for the community to learn more about the history, purpose and future planning regarding the proposed shared pathway.
She said ultimately the pathway will 'connect the Camden Haven', through its 11 kilometres of safe access between Pilot Beach and North Haven Beach.
The 11km has been divided into 11 segments in the proposed plan and there are five sections left to complete.
Mrs Small said these are the most challenging parts of the proposed pathway, due to environmental aspects.
The more dangerous parts of the planned pathway are situated along The Boulevarde, Dunbogan. These sections will require the construction of boardwalk.
Mrs Small said the pathway will provide increased safety for those who want to make the most of the beautiful environment.
She said it will also provide a boost to tourism for the Camden Haven.
