Hayley has stepped into the position as the station's manager, taking over from Ross Butlin who held the role for the past 11 years.
The Pilot Station is a community managed heritage listed facility located at Dunbogan.
It occupies a beachfront site overlooking Pilot and Wash House Beaches and the Camden Haven River Inlet, and adjoining Kattang Nature Reserve.
Hayley anticipates the station being available for many groups to access for community events, to highlight the location's history while showcasing an area of interest.
It's her goal to make the station accessible to everyone.
Hayley said she's lucky to have landed the role which has prime views of the pristine environment.
The station provided navigational assistance from 1890 until its closure in 1990.
The station is heritage listed as a rare surviving intact group of buildings, which provides physical evidence of the living and working conditions of the pilot and boatmen.
It comprises a 1950s style three bedroom timber cottage, historic signal shed and former boatshed. It's set in a bushland recreation reserve.
The Pilot Station also has an active Landcare program and a group of volunteers meet each Tuesday to ensure exotic weeds are kept at bay.
Interpretive signage has been placed around the station to educate people on its areas of influence.
