In its fifth year, Ekam is a two-day festival offering over 80 classes and activities, including many that are free.
Talks by natural health practitioners, taster yoga classes, kids' activities and a Healthy Living Expo are open to the public free of charge. Free community activities run from 9am-3pm Saturday and Sunday, September 14-15 at Francis Retreat, Bonny Hills.
Denis Juelicher, founder of Ekam Yoga Festival, wants the event to bring the community together.
"Our festival theme is 'balance' this year. I think we could all use a little more balance in our lives and at Ekam Yoga Festival you will find ways to bring more balance into your life," Ms Juelicher said.
Families are invited to enjoy time together and participate in free classes or relax and listen to music.
Saturday will feature activities for little yogis of all ages. A kids' yoga class starts at 10am, kids acrobatics at 12 noon and a drumming session at 12.45pm.
A chalk mandala, labyrinth and dreamcatcher workshop will be available all day.
Free activities for the community include a Talks Corner with one-hour presentations throughout the weekend. Published authors, yoga teachers and health professionals will share information on healthy living, food and mental well-being.
Over 10 yoga taster classes will be offered over both days, and all are welcome to participate without a booking. Class styles include beach meditation, vinyasa flow and gentle yoga. Classes are suitable for beginners. Bring a mat or rug.
The Natural Health & Living Expo is free and open to the public 8:30am-4pm. It's an opportunity to explore natural therapies, talk with alternative health professionals and shop for locally-made products. Aromatherapy and massage therapy will also be available.
